Keith Chegwin Buttons

Hmmm … January 2012…What do you get when you put Chippenham train station, Keith Chegwin and tempus fugit together?…

This may seem an unlikely combination, but the vignette goes like this…

One cold January morning, whilst making my way across the rickety footbridge at Chippenham station, what did I see in front of me, framed in a bright, garish yellow, but the face of Keith Chegwin, advertising the star role in the regional panto!

Now I don’t know about you, but when I see a figure from my childhood TV years (in this case he of ‘Cheggers Plays Pop’ fame!), looking shockingly older, it can stop me in my tracks.

In this case when I saw the more than life size photo, together with close ups of sags and bags and wrinkles, even with the stage makeup, only two words came into my head… “tempus fugit” (Tempus fugit is a Latin expression meaning “time flees”, more commonly translated as “time flies”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempus_fugit)

I walked out of Chippenham station two minutes later with renewed vigour and a sense of wanting to ‘do it like I mean it’, make 2012 a really great year, and shape life for me and family the way we really want it.

What has this effect on you?
