and your team to grow your business?
Let's talk Team Coaching
When did you last look at things differently? Let's talk individual and team coaching
  • SHINE is a specialist executive coaching & facilitation practice run by Zoë Cohen

As an executive coach Zoë works with you, your senior teams and leaders to support and challenge you to transform your conversations, behaviours, mindset and performance for the benefit of you, your colleagues, your customers, your business, and your family.
Thank you once again for making me feel at ease, as I think without open and honesty your clients would not get as much from the process.
I've had a really positive second half of the year and made some really good strides forward, particularly in terms of presentation skills and presence. I really genuinely feel that the coaching has been a significant factor in making this progress and I wouldn't have had the wherewithal to make it happen without it.
After each session I felt re-energised, walked taller and had a 'I can do this if a want to' approach. Thanks Zoe for some really productive and useful sessions. Your humane, positive and authentic approach provided me with some great support which I value and still think about and consider.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet you today. I have felt an immediate benefit – thank you.
In terms of feedback from the session; I came away feeling extremely valued and with a different perspective on my ability to control how I present myself to others – thank you. I really appreciate the fact that you listened intently and took the time to reflect back what you heard. I realised one can’t over estimate the value of ‘being listened to’; people are often too busy and by not listening fully, whether intentional or not, can create a subtle, negative effect.
The pitch went really well, perfectly to time and I recalled all of the detail, thanks for your help, some of your acute observations really helped the final product.
Zoë is an excellent coach – she challenged me to challenge myself and that is exactly what I had asked for at the very first session and I found her style incredibly effective. … Exactly the right amount of challenge. Always constructive and thought provoking. Excellent.
I am delighted to have met you and of the positive impact you have had on my career planning… I have really enjoyed my coaching sessions which at times could have been uncomfortable but have found you to be friendly yet objective about the actions I have needed to take. Thank you once again for your time and professionalism, you have helped me enormously.
I too am hearing very positive messages and that is why I am recommending you over others as people feel that they can apply techniques in the workplace and that you have a very common sense approach.

Zoe works with individuals, teams and groups from a wide range of sectors, including:

    Services

SHINE provides the following range of services

    Challenging yourself

What's your own "A to B"? What do you want and need to change in your leadership and your professional life? We can work together to support and challenge you to get from A to B, wherever and whatever that might be.

    "
“Zoë was a fantastic support during my transition to a new role. Like the art of black magic, Zoë managed to identify the blockers in my own thinking and self-belief and gave me real tools to use in addressing challenging situations. One year on, I revisit the output from my sessions with Zoë, and know the skills and tools have made me more effective in this role, and more able to make the next step when the time comes.”

“I found the four sessions with Zoë immensely valuable and thought provoking… she led me through the sessions to enable me to see for myself what I was dealing with. I can’t thank her enough. The discussions with her enabled me to see with clarity what I needed to do next. She recommended further reading which expanded on our discussions and gave me the confidence to take the next steps. As a result, I feel much more in control of my own professional and career development.”

“I gained significant insights into my personal style and where it worked and where it didn’t. I have used this to help coach a direct report who is new to management. By being able to share my own observations of how things can and cannot work has enabled us to have constructive discussions. I also feel more confident in having difficult conversations, and have various strategies to ensure that resolution is gained.”

    Stretching your team

Is your team more or less than the sum of its parts? If you have a sense that your senior team could be performing better we can work together to shift the conversations to what they really need to be talking about and acting upon.

    "
“Thanks so much for Friday, I have had four 1 to 1s so far this week and they all felt the day was exceptional and that your contribution really added value. The progress of the 6 in room has been tremendous…”

“Zoë’s contribution was vital in encouraging individual Directors to commit to action plans to improve their personal competencies. She used a questioning technique throughout to facilitate the Director’s own thought processes in order to identify solutions and outcomes rather than taking a wholly directive approach. Zoë maintained a supportive and non-judgemental approach throughout and was an excellent listener.”

    Developing your key relationships

How effectively do your CEO and Chair work together? Or your Sales and Operations Directors? Or the other key players in your business? Don't wait for misunderstandings to arise or disconnections to embed, we can work together to help these crucial relationships have the best chance of success.

    "
“I thought yesterday was very positive, it feels as though we have come a long way as a team in a short time. You are well respected by the team and extremely good at what you do!”

    Growing your aspiring leaders

How's your succession planning? Do you have keen, able, confident and resilient people ready to step into crucial roles? We can design bespoke 1:1 and group programmes to help your aspiring talent really step up effectively… and then stay afloat.

    "
“I am so very grateful for all your support, guidance and gentle (or not so gentle!) prodding over the last few months - I don't think I could have done it without your support. You are an absolute star and I will be providing very positive feedback on my experience.”

“I have changed the way I perceive myself - taking responsibility for my own actions and results rather than being passive and reactive.”

“This course has been transformational for me: it has allowed to reflect, challenged me and given me skills and knowledge to develop myself as a leader.”

Shifting your organisation towards a coaching culture

You know that 21st century organisations need really high quality, agile thinking to drive the innovation and competitiveness that must be their lifeblood. The ability to genuinely inquire, to really ask and listen, and open up colleagues' thinking is a central modern leadership skill and mindset. We can work together to grow this capability in your business and turn it into a habit that will pay dividends.

    "
“Really enjoyed working with Zoë. She is great at demonstrating true leadership.”

“Zoë was particularly approachable, knowledgeable and engaging. Her style enabled contributions from everyone and encouraged. Zoë made the content come to life. She inspired and engaged all throughout.”

    Supervision for coaches and consultants

I believe as coaches and organisational consultants we must 'eat our own medicine', we must work as hard on ourselves and our practice as we expect our clients to. As a post-graduate qualified and accredited Supervisor I can help you to reflect and learn from your practice, for the benefit of you, your clients, and their customers.

    "
“Zoë has a number of skills and attributes that make her exceptional in this role. Firstly, she is highly perceptive… Secondly, she is very clear on the responsibilities of the coach and where that responsibility ends… Thirdly, Zoë is very direct yet very easy to hear. She does not apologise for saying something straight. She just says it.

“Zoë was very skilled at bringing me back to my practice and holding my focus on that. Creating a clear distinction between supervision and any other kind of coaching support was very valuable for me and enabled me to get something unique from these sessions.”

“My sessions with Zoë were a pleasure. I experienced her as both challenging and compassionate and, during a time of immense upheaval and change in my personal life, she kept me focused on my continued professional development and being of service to my clients, which were invaluable touchstones for me.”
